The 1880 Train invites the public to join them in celebrating the 100th birthday of Engine #7. To commemorate this significant milestone, the 1880 Train will honor the engine during their 2019 season opening, Friday & Saturday, May 10 & 11.
Commemoration activities begin at noon both Friday and Saturday, May 10 and 11 at the Hill City Depot. Festivities feature remarks from 1880 Train Operations Manager, Mike Grimm, birthday cookies, special displays at the Hill City & Keystone depots as well as the SD State Railroad Museum, and photo opportunities with #7. The first train runs of the 2019 season, pulled by #110, will depart Hill City at 1:15PM both days.
